Seattle TBM damage worse than thought

Seattle Tunnel Partners has confirmed that disassembly of the SR 99 tunnelling machine is complete, and assessment of the damage is ongoing. They will not provide a revised schedule for resuming mining until they fully understand the scope of repairs. Read more

Hochtief wins €265M Qatar tunnel contract

Hochtief Solutions Middle East Qatar W.L.L., with Al Sraiya Strabag for Roads and Infrastructure W.L.L. and Petroserv Limited, has signed a contract for the design and construction of the 14.7km tunneled central section of the new sewerage network under Qatar. The client is the Public Works Authority (ASHGHAL). Read more

MTR’s SCL topping out celebrated

The Hong Kong MTR’s Shatin to Central Link (SCL) project team celebrated a major achievement on 30 April 2015 with the topping-out of Hin Keng Station, the first of the 17km long fully underground SCL’s six new stations to be topped out. Read more

Perth Airport Link shortlist announced

Three consortia have been shortlisted to go to the next stage of the tender process to design and construct the $2bn Forrestfield-Airport Link. Each will be issued with a Request for Proposal for the project that includes 8km long twin tube tunnels. Read more
