MRT Corp awards US$4bn underground works contract to MMC Gamuda KVMRT

Malaysia’s Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) announced today, March 31, 2016, that the Underground Works Package for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line has been awarded to MMC Gamuda KVMRT  (MGKT). The value of the contract is RM15.47 billion (US$3.97 billion). This is the largest work package for the construction of the SSP Line. Read more

The Colorado School of Mines Center for Underground Construction and Tunneling hosted the inaugural Geotechnical and Structural Instrumentation, Monitoring, and Information Engineering short course on March 16-18. Singapore’s LTA awards multiple contracts totalling US$2.42 billion

Today, March 21, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded a civil contract for the construction of its East Coast Integrated Depot – the world’s first four-in-one rail and bus depot – and its reception tunnels to Korea-based GS Engineering & Construction Corporation for around S$1.99 billion (US$1.46 billion).
