HS2 gains Royal Assent

The UK’s HS2 has taken a major step forward by successfully completing over 3 years of Parliamentary scrutiny to receive Royal Assent. Construction will now begin on schedule in the spring. Read more

CREG ‘‘Golda’’ EPBM launched in Israel

20th February saw the launch of the first of six CREG EPBMs to be used on the 23km Red Line for the Tel Aviv Metro in Israel. More than 300 guests, including Israel’s Minister of Transport and the Chinese Ambassador witnessed the event. Read more

A major milestone in the construction of London Underground’s Northern Line Extension has been reached with the lowering of the two 6m diameter NFM TBMs 20m below ground in Battersea, ahead of tunnelling starting in March. Read more

Vinci JV win in Paris

Client, Société du Grand Paris has awarded VINCI Construction and Spie batignolles JV, a major €926M contract on Line 15 South of the future Grand Paris Express transport network. Included is the construction of 8.2km of tunnel between Fort d’Issy-Vanves-Clamart and Villejuif Louis Aragon using two 10m diameter EPBMs, five stations, and eight shafts. Read more

Bids opened for Fort Wayne CSO tunnel

PUB, Singapore’s national water agency, has appointed CH2M Hill Singapore Pte Ltd as the Detailed Design Consultant for the Tuas Water Reclamation Plant (WRP), a key component of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) Phase 2. Read more
