Korean candidate, Professor In-Mo Lee has been voted President of the International Tunnelling Association.

Lee from the Korean School of Civil, Environmental and Architechtural Engineering in Seoul, won in a secondary vote after not gaining a majority vote in the initial round, beating the French candidate Yann Leblais, and Professor Eivind Grov from Norway.

The election was held in Vancouver at the ITA General Assembly and sees Lee take over as President of the ITA from the UK’s Martin Knights, who steps down after a productive three years in the role.
