Capita has been appointed by the UK’s National Grid for the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design of a 1050mm nominal bore pipeline across the Humber Estuary. The pipeline is some 6km in length and will be placed inside a 3-3.5m diameter tunnel bored for over 4.4km under the estuary. The pipeline will connect into strategic points in the National Grid pipeline system and will feed gas into the main arterial gas transportation network that provides gas to the majority of UK consumers.
