After more than two years as Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Caterpillar Tunneling Canada Corp, Klaus Ukens has accepted a position within Caterpillar Mining and has relocated to Dortmund, Germany.  In this new role Klaus will be responsible for shaping Caterpillar’s Global Underground Mining Strategy.

Effective November 1st the position previously held by Klaus will be divided into two separate but complimentary roles.  The position of Director of Sales will be assumed by Craig Bournes.  Craig has been a key leader in the sales organization for 16 years and has prior experience in both tunnel design and as a geotechnical engineer.

The position of Director of Marketing and Product Support will be assumed by Nick Natale.  Nick has spent the last year at Caterpillar Tunneling leading marketing efforts and championing parts growth.  In his last 14+ years with Caterpillar Nick has held a variety of marketing and product support roles across North America and Europe.

Dick Cooper, President and General Manager of Caterpillar Tunneling, offered the following remarks regarding the organizational changes:  “Klaus has effectively led us through the organizational transition from LOVAT to Caterpillar Tunneling and continues to add strategic value to the enterprise by leading the development of Caterpillar’s global underground mining strategy.  With the establishment of Sales Director and Product Support Director positions we are striving to serve customers even better through this new organization designed to provide customers with the best tunneling equipment for their unique projects and ensure an industry leading product support organization to keep our customers mining.”
