China State Construction International Holdings Limited (CSCI) has been awarded the US$680M Tunnel of Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter Section Contract on Hong Kong’s Central-Wanchai Bypass. The project includes the construction of a 400m long tunnel at the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, and a 200m long tunnel located under the Hung Hom Tunnel.

The contract, awarded by the Highways Department of Hong Kong S.A.R. Government, is the single largest construction contract CSCI has ever undertaken individually. The construction period is about 64 months.

The award of the Central-Wanchai Bypass project brings CSCI’s contract wins value to US$3bn for this year to date, which represents a 116% completion of full year target.
