The web site for the 2014 Cutting Edge Conference is now online, with delegate registration due to open at the end of this month. The third annual Cutting Edge conference – which will be held at the Westin Times Square, in Midtown Manhattan, this November 3-5 – considers, in depth, a subject that has been a primary hazard for tunnelers and miners for thousands of years: Groundwater and ways to control it.

Means of groundwater control such as grouting and ground treatment, as well as cut off walls, and other types of ground modification, will be considered and discussed alongside, traditional dewatering, pressurized face machines designed to control water and flowing ground ahead of tunnel excavations, and waterproof linings.

The conference will continue the Cutting Edge tradition of in-depth technical dialogue with extended question and answer panel discussions. The conference has a single track and all participants are encouraged to contribute through discussion to increase the lessons learned experience of the industry.

As always, this Cutting Edge features subject-specific presentations focusing on innovations and practical experience in controlling groundwater from projects around the world. These projects have been specifically chosen to benefit the anticipated upcoming work in North America.

An accompanying exhibit will compliment the program and further details on this and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the conference web site:
