Femern A/S to begin Pre-qualification

Written by Tris Thomas on 21/09/2012 in News

Femern A/S has revealed that the tender process for construction of the US$7.2bn, 19km long immersed tube fixed link between Germany and Denmark will kick off officially in early October, when Femern A/S advertises the prequalification via the EU Official Journal.

The client is expecting a significant number of the world’s largest construction companies to participate, many as international JVs, in the competition to win one or more of the major contracts when the bidding process begins.

Through the prequalification Femern A/S will assess whether the consortia are technically and economically capable of the task. Subsequently, the prequalified consortia will have access to the tender documents in the course of the coming year.
