Société du Grand Paris, the semi-public company developing the Grand Paris Express, has awarded the first of three civil engineering contracts for the development of its Line 17 (North) to a consortium of European companies, called ‘Avenir’. The JV is formed by Demathieu Bard Construction (coordinator), Impresa Pizzarotti & CSPA, Implenia France SA, Implenia Switzerland Ltd, Implenia Spezialtiefbau GmbH, and the three BAM companies BAM Contractors SA, Galère SA and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG.

This €439.4M contract relates to works on Plot 1 of Line 17 North between the eastern line section of line 17 South, located in the municipality of Le Bourget, and the location of the Trangle de Gonesse station in the Municipality of Gonesse.

The project includes the delivery of the civil engineering works for the Le Bourget Airport and Triangle de Gonesse stations, and a 6km long section of bored tunnel.

The aim is that passengers will be able to travel on this route from the capital to Le Bourget Airport station as of 2024 (in time for the Olympics) and from and to Triangle de Gonesse station as of 2027 onwards.
