Impregilo in association with Astaldi has been awarded a US$1bn contract tendered by ANAS, the Italian highways authority, for the construction work on the third mega-lot of the Jonica state highway (the SS-106). The new road will be 38km long, from the junction with state highway 534 (SS-534) to Roseto Capo Spulico (Cosenza) and includes the construction of 13km of tunnels.

The works also include  approximately 5km of viaducts and 20km of embankments. The total project schedule is approximately 7 years and 8 months, including fifteen months of definitive and executive project engineering and construction start-up, and the remaining 6 years and 5 months for actual construction work.
