At a gala celebration in Genoa last night, Thames Tideway in London, UK, took the top prize in the Major Projects category. The 25km long CSO interceptor super sewer excavated directly beneath the course of the world famous river was announced the Gold Trophy winner from among worthy competition from Silver Trophy prize winner the Grand Central Madison railway project in New York, USA, and Bronze Trophy winner the Thomson-East Coast Line Contracts T222 to T310 in Singapore.

As part of the gala evening, the audience was treated to a wonderful concert of opera music presented by Joseph Dahdah, Tenor; Helena Dix, Soprano (yes, ITA President Arnold Dix’ sister); Giuseppe Ottaviani, Pianoforte.
A gala dinner followed when ITA host Member Nation Italy and its Società Italiana Gallerie organisers were given sincere thanks for staging a highly successful and truly memorable event. In concluding the evening of celebrations, ITA President Arnold Dix announced that Belgrade, Serbia, will organise the 2025 series of ITA Tunnelling Awards in conjunction with the SETC Southeastern Europe Tunnelling Conference 1-3 October 2025. Prepare to respond to the call for entries and mark your calendar to reserve the date for being part of the celebrations on 1-3 October 2025 in Belgrade.
