Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a further civil contract on the 30km fully underground Thomson Line, T207 with a value of around S$189.8M. The contract covers the construction of tunnels from Seletar Expressway/Woodlands Avenue 12 to Springleaf Station and has been awarded to Shimizu Corporation.

Construction works for contract T207 is expected to start by the first quarter of 2014 and complete in 2020.

The Thomson Line will enhance rail connectivity in the north-south corridors to the Central Business District (CBD) and developments in the Marina Bay area. The Line comprises 22 stations, including six interchange stations: Woodlands, Caldecott, Stevens, Orchard, Outram Park and Marina Bay. These interchange stations will link to the North-South-East-West Line (NSEWL), Downtown Line (DTL), North-East Line (NEL) and Circle Line (CCL), providing greater accessibility and significantly improve travel time for commuters.
