Shell E&P Ireland Ltd is looking for submissions for the ‘Detailed engineering and construction of the Corrib Onshore pipeline trenchless crossing.’ One option being considered includes the design and construction of a 5km long tunnel through the Sruwaddacon Bay in County Mayo, western Ireland.
The company is developing the Corrib Gas Field, some 80km off the northwest coast of Ireland. Integral to this is the delivery of a 20” onshore pipeline from the landfall to the terminal, a distance of approximately 10km. Microtunnelling is the probable method of choice, with the 20” pipeline placed within the finished tunnel.
This notice covers the engineering, the procurement of construction related materials, and the construction of the tunnel and thereafter the installation of the pipeline and auxiliaries within the tunnel.
The deadline for the submission of information relating to conditions for participation and technical ability is 12:00hrs on Monday 22.3.2010.
