AECOM Asia Company Limited, has been awarded a consultancy contract amounting to an estimated contract value of US$148M, by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s Highways Department for the design and construction of the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link (TM-CLKL) project. The project is part of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) and includes the construction of a 4.8km long sub-sea tunnel.

The contract includes detailed design as well as supervision-in-chief and resident site staff responsibilities. AECOM will provide reference design/detailed design and contract administration during the construction of the TM-CLKL, which will provide the most direct route between Hong Kong’s Northwest New Territories, the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities of the HZMB, the Hong Kong International Airport and Lantau Island. The complete project works, including the 4.8km tunnel, comprise a dual two-lane highway approximately 9.6km long, and is expected to be completed during 2017.

“This is the second design and construction consultancy that AECOM has won for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge related projects,” said AECOM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio. “We are honored to partner with Hong Kong’s Highways Department to play a key role in its continuing development of Hong Kong’s transportation infrastructure.”
