Crossrail release Cable Tunnel contract

Crossrail has tendered the US$51M contract C503 construction works for the Broadgate ticket hall at Liverpool Street Station, that includes the construction of a three storey power substation, and the excavation of a 56m long, 4m diameter SCL cable tunnel to take power lines under LU’s Circle Line. The deadline for expressions of interest for the approximate 25-month contract is 14th July.

The release comes off the back of yesterday’s issue of the approximate 50 month Contract C315, that includes:

The refurbishment of the existing twin brick/steel-lined Connaught Tunnel; Re-excavation and enlargement of the tunnel profile and construction of a new tunnel lining over approximately 105m; Construction of the Connaught Tunnel west approach structure, including repairs to 295m of the existing mass concrete retaining walls; Construction of the Connaught Tunnel east approach structure, including repairs to 270m of the existing mass concrete retaining walls; Surface Railway between Custom House Station and Connaught Tunnel (west); Surface Railway between Connaught Tunnel (east) and North Woolwich Portal.

Expressions of interest must be submitted by 5 July.
