It was announced today, March 19, that a joint venture between Tutor Perini subsidiary, Frontier-Kemper Constructors, and ASL has recently been awarded a contract by Aecon/SNC-Lavalin Constructors joint venture for the underground excavation package for the John Hart Generating Station replacement project in British Columbia, Canada.
The Frontier-Kemper/ASL partnership scope of work for the project involves the excavation of the powerhouse, gate chamber, intake shaft, power tunnel, tailrace, and various access tunnels. Frontier-Kemper’s portion of the contract value is approximately CA$71.5 million.
“We are excited to be chosen as the contractor for the excavation of underground works on such a significant project for the province of British Columbia,” said Dave Rogstad, President and CEO of Frontier-Kemper Constructors. “This will be our fourth major project in British Columbia in the last eight years and we look forward to its successful completion.”
Frontier-Kemper’s work on the project will commence this year and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2017. The contract value is expected to be included as part of the Company’s reported first-quarter 2014 backlog.
