Atlas Copco has won a US$10M order to supply equipment for the second phase of Colombia’s largest hydropower project, Ituango. The contract is the biggest received by Atlas Copco Colombia in its 26 years of operation.

Atlas Copco will deliver a total 28 machines for underground, surface and exploration drilling, loading as well as stationary and portable compressors. The customer is the CCC Ituango consortium, consisting of Camargo Correa from Brazil, and Conconcreto and Coninsa from Colombia. The order was booked in the fourth quarter and the equipment is to be delivered over the coming year.
“Colombia is an increasingly important market for Atlas Copco and we are pleased to be able to meet local demand for products and services related to infrastructure and civil engineering projects,” said Bob Fassl, Business Area President, Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique.
