Kier Construction, in joint venture with Laing O’Rourke and Kaden Construction, has today been awarded a US$308M contract by Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation for the construction of the new Admiralty Integrated Station in Hong Kong. Under this four-year contract, the existing Admiralty Station will be significantly extended to provide interchange facilities between the existing Tsuen Wan Line, the new South Island Line (East) and the proposed Shatin to Central Link. In addition to the four new platforms to be constructed below and adjacent to the existing station, the works include an interchange concourse, relocation of existing passenger entrances and external landscaping.
The contract was won against strong international competition following a two-stage tender process and will be executed under a target cost arrangement with work starting on site immediately.
Welcoming the news, Kier Group chief executive Paul Sheffield commented: “We are delighted with the award of this prestigious contract which will give us the opportunity to extend our excellent and long-standing relationship with MTR Corporation and further strengthen our presence in the area.”
