Belchen breakthrough

TBM works for Switzerland’s Belchen rehabilitation tunnel completed in Eptingen in the canton of Basel-Country on June 21, 2017, three months ahead of schedule. The 13.9m diameter single shield Herrenknecht TBM, driven by contractor Mart Tunnelbau AG, excavated 3.2km of tunnel through complex geology in just 16 months. Read more

CYP wins Melbourne Metro contract

The Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) – a consortium led by Lendlease Engineering, John Holland, Bouygues Construction and Capella Capital – has been selected to build the $6bn Melbourne Metro Tunnel and five new underground stations, the biggest public transport project in Victoria’s history. Washington’s Northeast Boundary Tunnel awarded

Salini Impregilo and The Lane Construction Corporation have won a $580M contract to build the Northeast Boundary Tunnel (NEBT) project in Washington, D.C. The NEBT will be a large, deep sewer tunnel that will increase the capacity of the District’s sewer system, significantly mitigating the frequency, magnitude and duration of sewer flooding and improving the water quality of the Anacostia River.
